About

History

Cenex has worked over many years with councils, companies, charities and countries to deliver evidence-based advice, guidance and support.

The National EV Insights and Support (NEVIS) service grew out of a desire to see more organisations supported with reliable, independent, up-to-date information on Electric Vehicles (EVs) and EV Infrastructure (EVI).

Today, NEVIS supplies LAs, consultancies, chargepoint operators and academic institutions with easily-accessible data, maps and modelling.

Users

As part of our role in the LEVI Fund Support Body role alongside the Energy Saving Trust and PA Consulting, this service is available to all English LAs free of charge until March 2025.

LAs from Wales and Scotland have paid-for access thanks to funding from Welsh Government and Motability Operations respectively.
LAs in Northern Ireland can join for a one-off annual fee, or bulk licence via their Devolved Administration.

All other organisations access a bespoke data dashboard containing information and insights specific to your organisation's needs.

Access

Access is available via your organisation's domain. Whilst the Insights Toolkit provides LA-specific information, all other aspects of the service are general and applicable across the country.

About Cenex

Cenex was established as the UK’s Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell technologies in 2005.

Today, Cenex focuses on low emission transport & associated energy infrastructure and operates as an independent, not-for-profit research technology organisation (RTO) and consultancy, specialising in the project delivery, innovation support and market development.

We also organise Cenex-LCV, the UK’s premier low carbon vehicle event, to showcase the latest technology and innovation in the industry.

Our independence ensures impartial, trustworthy advice, and, as a not-for-profit, we are driven by the outcomes that are right for you, your industry and your environment, not by the work which pays the most or favours one technology.

Finally, as trusted advisors with expert knowledge, we are the go-to source of guidance and support for public and private sector organisations along their transition to a zero-carbon future and will always provide you with the insights and solutions that reduce pollution, increase efficiency and lower costs.
