First LEVI Support Body Roadshow completed

30 Local Authorities met at the fringes of the 2022 Cenex-LCV event last week, Wednesday 7th September, for the first LEVI Support Body roadshow.

After lunch, Chris Cox (Cenex) and Nick Shaw (OZEV) welcomed the delegates, and Hugh Pickerill from EST gave an overview of the LEVI Fund and Support Body activities to-date.

James Court from EVA England introduced the audience to what drivers want from local EV infrastructure, highlighting from a recent survey that the needs before and after obtaining an EV are very different. Then Shayne Rees (Char.gy), Tom Pakenham (ChargeLight) and Toby Butler (Ubitricity) pitched their companies' offerings and participated in an interesting discussion on the merits and opportunities for lamppost charging, ably moderated by Roisin Hickey (Cenex).

After a break for tea and coffee, Beth Morley (Cenex) expanded our horizons with an engaging discussion on micromobility with the mantra "it's not just e-scooters". Finally, Dominic Gibbeson (PA Consulting) led a panel discussion with Charlie Allen (West Sussex County Council), Andrew Leadbetter (York City Council) and Peter Frost (Suffolk County Council) about the merits of different ownership opportunities.

Thank you to all the presenters and audience for their contributions and participation. The next roadshow will be held in January in the southwest - watch this space
